In October 2024, with support from Guangdong Provincial Tourism Holdings Co., Ltd, the building was renovated and transformed into a distinctive guesthouse complex that embodies the region’s identity as the hometown of Shan'ge folk songs, traditional culture, and overseas Chinese, all within an authentic Hakka experience. Drawing inspiration from traditional Hakka walled villages and the historic ships that once sailed to Southeast Asia, the design incorporates classic materials like wood frames, brick walls, rammed earth, and green tiles. The layout integrates archways, Hakka-style enclosed houses, green tiles, and decorative patterns, capturing the uniqueness of Hakka culture while honoring the deep historical roots of Songkou Town.Spanning 2,306 square meters, the Songkou Impression guesthouse was carefully renovated from the former Port Authority building, which dates back to the 1950s. This preservation and revitalization of this precious historic site allow more people to discover the unique allure of Songkou Port.More than just a place to stay, Songkou Impression is also a gateway to Hakka culture.
