There are many hotels in Wuyishan, with such high competition it drove down the prices, and a room in a 2 stars hotel should cost no more than 100 RMB.
延城大酒店 (Yanshing Hotel) located in the main tourist area, its near the main road, but on a high slope, and you have to walk up hill to reach the hotel, it is near a building site., the bus stop to the Wuyi is 200 meters away.
it is a family run hotel, children of the owners running around. the reception are two young girls who are more interest in their cellphone than their guests. They could not locate my booking, and they do not know what " C-TRIP" is, and only the manager get involved before I am allowed to check in.
The hotel has no lifts, and there are A LOT of stairs, The corridors are dim, the air con has water dripping all night. At least the wifi work well.
The breakfast, though is included, is a sad affair, the congee, noodles are COLD, the buns are tasteless, and a man hand out ONE egg per customer in the doorway, and no second egg are allowed.
we stay 2 nights and just use it as a base to tour the national park. the scenery are stunning, but with the expensive admission ticket and their compulsory bus pass inside the park, and the inflated price of the mandatory raft ride, you look into not less than 400 RMB per person.
Their are 2 high speed train terminal, and both are far from the centre, the Northern station are the nearer of the two, but still 45 minutes ride away, and 33 stops in between. The Eastern one is even further and very isolated, and DO NOT use this station unless you have no other choices, there are no effective transportation and the taxi drivers will not think twice to ripe you off left right and centre.
With so many choices, you should shop around and there should be many hotels offer better location and service then 延城大酒店 (Yanshing Hotel).
