What a gem! Beautiful and authentic hotel with lovely staff, great service and attention to details. I love the fact that the hotel itself is a historic site and the owner has done a lot to preserve the local culture, history, and tradition. Location is great too.

A gem of a hotel!! Comfortable bed and nice simple breakfast. Staff was great! Also a great playroom for our 3year old. Sad the market tour was not happening in the summer as we heard that is not to miss.. but we got a nice architectural tour instead!
So happy we got to spend 2 nights here- will happily come back and excited to check out the other locations when we have a chance. Thank you!

I almost love everything about it. Especially the outdoor patio where you can overlook the rice fields. Food was amazing too and the staff are wonderful. One tiny comment about the shower head: it is fixed and the water is always hot, regardless whichever direction you turn. If this can be fixed, I'd give 100!

We really enjoyed our short stay in the Linden Centre. Great location in the middle of rice field at the outer edge of the ancient village Xizhou. The staff did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. As the daily Center tour wasn’t available in English, the owner Brian jumped in and gave us a 20 minute introduction. We can highly recommend this place if you want to learn about the culture and be close to the beautiful nature at Erhai lake.

We can just recommend a stay at the Linden Center. The management is excellent. The staff speaks english and is friendly and supportive. One of the best hotels we had been in a Chinese village! If you want to visit Dali/Xizhou Linden Center is the place to stay! Special thanks to Matt for the excellent support and to Mason for the interesting market tour and to the Ayi who was every day so happy and welcoming!

Thank you to Brian, Jeanne and the team, including Shirley who gave us a warm welcome and a wonderful stay. The Linden Center in Xizhou is a fascinating and wonderful place to visit and stay. Learn about the history of the house and local area. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The food is excellent, choose to eat on the restaurant, the relaxing bar or the gorgeous terrace overlooking the green paddy fields and mountains. Take the morning market tour and be guided around Xizhou with it’s beautiful architecture and friendly people. We actually didn’t go very far this trip as we just enjoyed relaxing in the linden center courtyards, our kids also especially enjoyed the playroom. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back to visit the other Linden Centers.
