六十年文化底蕴的四星级酒店，进入大堂整个气场都明显不同于那些春笋般崛起的新兴酒店旅馆。厚重安静让人有安全感。这个酒店接待过周总理，又是用昆明市名来做名字，就凭这一点就值得一来。更不要说免费升级房间和美味的早餐自助了，不来住真的遗憾。对了，还在市中心位置，并有全昆明最好吃的黄油蛋糕。真心强烈推荐！

作为昆明早期的象征，住在这里是一种情怀。能够以城市名字命名的宾馆，都是历史悠久的代名词，对于老人，可以试试。

酒店牌子老，位置比较好，设施中规中矩，有问题打客服电话回应快，到房间处理也比较快。但觉得早晨的自助餐厅还有些地方要改进，否则和饭店档次不够匹配。例如，讲六点半开始早餐，但六点半到餐厅时，不少食物没上齐，已提供的食物刚开始慢慢加热温度很低，没办法吃，包括厨师等餐饮服务人员六点半不少还没上岗，而后才陆续来了，基本上到七点半才处于正常经营状态；例如，烘焙面包类的食品基本都是很干硬的，感觉放了很长时间；例如，酸奶只有外面卖的那种小盒装的，不像一周前住在昆明锦江大酒店还有自制酸奶提供，而来之前在北海富丽华大酒店自助早餐更有好几种口味的自制酸奶等提供选择。
